The Chevy C-65 set the standard for short-cab trucks in the mid 1970s. The 97-1/2? BBC (Bumper-to-Back-of-Cab) allowed bigger payload, longer body or trailer, good weight distribution and ease of maneuvering. Short-hood design aided down-front visibility as well, and put the 230 horsepower, 427 V-8 engine components within easy reach for maintenance and repair.
